Today’s Focus: Fresh spring Makeup Tutorial for Silver Beauties
This fresh spring makeup tutorial is part of my regular series of non-toxic makeup looks perfect mature skin and the video below offers a detailed step by step explanation.
This look was created especially for gray-haired beauties by Christy Coleman, Chief Artistic Officer and Product Developer at Beautycounter.
Christy is transitioning to gray, so she recently shared a tutorial dedicated to her fellow silver sisters, like me. I replicated the look after taking notes on her tutorial and posted my results on Instagram shortly after. Christy not only commented on my post, but also sent me a direct message telling me I did a great job and she can’t wait until her hair looks like mine. I felt like a celebrity! LOL. It’s the little things, right?

This is a much longer, more detailed tutorial than usual. Let me know what you think!
All Products used today for this fresh spring tutorial are non-toxic and cruelty-free.
For today’s fresh spring makeup tutorial:
SKIN PREP:
I prepped my skin with the Countertime Mineral Boost Hydrating Essence, which Christy describes as a facial in a bottle. It really is luxurious. It is applied after cleansing. . . just dispense a few drops into your palms and press into skin. I followed this with the Counter + All Bright C Serum. This is sunshine in a bottle- it brightens, adds radiance and evens skin tone. It also helps grip foundation, according to Christy.
MAKEUP IN ORDER OF APPLICATION:
- Skin Twin Featherlight Foundation in light 230
- Skin Twin Creamy Concealer in fair 2 for brightening and Light 1 for extra coverage.
- Eyebrow pencil in medium
- All-Over Eye Brush for lid application
- Color Pinch Cream Blusher in Hibiscus for cheek color
- Illuminating Cream Highlighter in Pearl Glow for cheek highlight, on Cupid’s bow, and center of eyelid
- Mattifying Powder for under eye, eyelid, tip of nose
That’s it. I hope you like it. I love using contour now that I see how easy it is to accomplish. I always made a mess of it with powders.
Want to make some makeup changes but feel overwhelmed?
I know makeup application can seem daunting and color selection can be challenging, so thankfully there are resources on the website to help, like the shade finder resource, and the Flawless in Five set, which is how I got started, walks you through foundation, concealer, blush, and gloss suggestions.
